The legalization of cannabis on few countries across the world has prompted a lot of cultivators to plant outdoors. It has been an important milestone to the cannabis industry most especially for those who have kept themselves discreet during cultivation. 

Not as much as we knew, there are hundreds of cannabis strains widely advertised for use outdoors. Breeders and seed banks who promises potency, disease-resistance, flexibility, and high bud yield. 

While these are good words, it’s quite hard sometimes to choose out of hundreds which have almost the similar flashy descriptions. That is why we will keep your confusions come to light. 

Here are our ten best yielding outdoor cannabis strains in no particular order. 

#1. Cheese Quake

A cross between the Cheese and the fruity indica Querkle, this strain delivers a powerful high suited for novice and experienced smokers. It’s incorporated with a THC content ranging from as low as 13% to as high as about 25%. 

It has a good soothing taste with smooth euphoric effect upon several dosages. Its notably has a grape or berry-like scent on its smell with a dominant cheese-like effect as reflected its parent strain. Upon smoking, it has an irritated inhale yet sweet and relieving upon exhale.

#2. Blue Dream

Bred by the legendary DJ short, this strain is a mix of the popular strains including Blueberry and Haze. It’s a sativa-dominant strain with having a THC composition as low as 17% to as high as 24%. It has low CBD and CBN levels about 2% and 1% respectively. 

Its buds are highlighted with its blue spreading petals, long hairs, and white trichomes. Just upon smoking, you’ll notice the blueberry and sugary taste on its aroma. It’s sweet with a hint of sourness to it. 

The flowering time takes at least 10 weeks for this strain. Outdoor harvest of this strain happens during late September or early October depending on the setup. It has a high yield amounting at twenty-one ounces per plant and could grow at least at five feet.

#3. Blackjack

This indica dominant strain is a cross between the Afghani landrace Black Domina and the highly-acclaimed Jack Herer. It comprises of a THC content ranges between 15% to about 25% respectively. 

This strain generally tastes sweet and creamy during smoking. It has a unique fruity-like smell resembling grapefruit with hints of tobacco on its sidings. Moreover, it has a wood taste with smooth inhales upon smoking. It gives you a long euphoria, about three to four hours depending on the amount consumed.

#5. Critical Kush

Originally bred in California, this strain is a mix between the strains LSD and Liberty Haze. It has relatively a high THC value ranging from 16% to as much as 30%. It’s intensely potent which delivers an incredible euphoric effect upon smoking it. 

Its buds are conveniently densely packed with green leaves around its orange pistils. Hints of citrus with a taste of pine is prevalent upon smoking this strain. It has also a bit of spicy aroma upon exhale with smoothness and a powerful boost to it. 

It can be grown outdoors or indoors. Harvest for outdoor growing is usually during late September or early October. It will take 7 to 8 weeks before it flowers. This strain offers high yields reaching even more than 56 grams per square foot of the plant. 

#6. Green Crack

Originally referred to as Cush, this strain is believed to be bred from the Skunk#1 variety and an unknown African landrace strain. Suited for daytime use, it kicks with a THC content of 13% to about 24%.

This sativa dominant strain reminisces with hints of mango upon smoking. It has a suitable smell of earth and wood details into it. Upon exhale, you’ll notice a bit of spiciness and sweetness after every smoke. 

Growing this strain, it could reach from three to four feet tall. It could be grown from 7 to 8 weeks with harvests usually at the month of October. It produces a yield usually ranging from 41 to as much as 50 grams per square footage of the plant. 

#7. Super Skunk

This indica dominant strain is derived from the legendary strain Skunk#1 and an unknown Afghani landrace. It has a THC level that starts from 19% to about 24%. Its CBD level is quite high reaching 13% cannabinoid content. 

This strain creates a heavy buzz and distinctively will cause euphoric vibe upon usage. It has a similar skunk-like smell as to its parent strain with hints of fruity pomegranate and cranberry during smoking. Its effects are felt for at least 90 minutes of the utilization of the drug.

This strain has quite a longer flowering time. Notably, it tends to range from 10 to 12 weeks respectively. If grown outdoors, usually this strain could be harvested at months of October to November. Yields could go as much as 60 grams per square meter. 

#9. Purple Trainwreck

A cross between the Mendo Purps and Trainwreck, this well-balanced strain is a perfect remedy on therapeutic treatments for anxiety, depression, and pain management. It possesses a THC content with an average of 18% and a CBD content at about 1.5%. Moreover, it’s uniquely high in alpha –pinene terpene which the High Times magazine stated as recognizable or distinguishable. 

As its name cited, buds are often denoted for its purple appearance. It has a lemon-like smell with notes of berry on its background. After smoking, spicy aroma is often felt with sweet undertones. 

This strain grows at an optimal height from 30 inches to 70 inches. It has a flowering time in the range between 10 to 12 weeks with a bud yield from one to three ounces per square foot of plant. 

#10.Big Bud

This indica dominant hybrid is speculated to be mix with the Afghani, Haze, and Northern Lights strains. Having won in the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1989, this strain has a THC content varying at 15% to at least 20%. 

Effects and scent are quite similar to its relative Jack Herrer which is also a product from the cross of Haze and Skunk families. It has fruitiness aroma with grape and citrus taste. Apart from that, it has spicy notes with earthy scent upon smoking. 

This strain is most known for its large bud size. This plant usually grows at least seven feet tall. It somehow flowers quickly just within 7 to 8 weeks from its planting. This strain offers about 46 grams per square foot of plant.
